History of AMCOMC

The Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County has always been a group of enthusiasts with a passion for antique automobiles and the history, restoration, and enjoyment of driving one’s pride and joy.

2017 - Present: The Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County completes a rebranding, now going by the acronym AMCOMC. As part of the rebranding, the club also rolls out a new website, new logo, 'member' signs for vehicles, and begins doing business as AMCOMC. The site - www.antiquemotoringclubofmonmouthcounty.com - is retired in place of the new website - www.amcomc.org - which shortens the number of characters required to access the site by over 300% (43 to 14).

The club continues to offer new features for members - including the ability for members to reconcile their dues electronically, which was rolled out in 2020 - while still focusing on the inclusive club philosophy of membership being open to all car enthusiasts of all ages. With the growing level of membership, following, and presence in Monmouth County and the surrounding areas, AMCOMC begins to host their own events and are able to sponsor trophies at some local events.

1989 – 2016: The Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County was formed with an interest in all vehicles. The membership consisted of original members and a lot of new one’s. The club was an ever-evolving entity as new members provided new avenues of interest under different elected officers. During this time, the club determined it was important to digitize, create a website, and get on the internet.

1983 – 1988: Because of the interest in all antique automobiles the membership had become part of the Antique Automobile Club of America; thus becoming the Central Jersey Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Due to a change in membership interest the club was disbanded.

1963 – 1982: The original club was the Monmouth Model A Club; with the members owning Ford Model A vehicles. As time went on so did the club members appreciation and collection of other makes and models of antique cars.
